Animal Encounters
River Otters
Probably the most active animals in the Zoo, river otters stay on the go for a large part of the day.
Great Apes
Teenage gorillas and a toddler chimpanzee; talk with the Great Ape caretakers to see how life with these three compare to raising your own troop!
Lions or Baboons
Home to African lions and Hamadryas baboons, Valley of the Kings offers one of Zoo Knoxville’s coolest animal experiences.

Cuban Crocodiles

Joe the Sloth
Don’t walk—run! You don’t want to miss the visit with the ARC’s slowly mobile mammal as he comes down from the trees for a snack and a closeup.
Red Pandas
Get ready for an encounter that will steal your heart! At Zoo Knoxville’s Red Panda Encounter, you’ll come face-to-face with one of our most beloved residents.
Gibbons or Langurs
Head up two stories to the Gibbon Encounter to meet Georgie and Malay, or jump down into Langur Landing to see our awesome langurs. Prepare for an exhilarating encounter with our high-flying aerial acrobats!
